Sexual assault is not just a female problem

Greetings, I appreciate you disseminating the accounts of Coast Guard victims of this horrific problem. I suspect this is the only real way to get tangible results. Leadership in many ways has failed us. I feel compelled to share the following excerpt from a letter I am drafting to DHS OIG, Senate staffers, and a few others:

“[Sexual assault] is not just a female problem either. As a male, I was once a victim of sexual assault. A male co-worker squeezed my breasts and made an inappropriate comment afterwards. I felt absolutely violated. I then understood how countless women in the service must feel when this sort of unwanted sexual conduct happens to them. If I had any confidence at the time that anything substantial would have been done to address this incident, I would have reported it. Nevertheless, just because I didn't report it doesn't take away from the fact that it actually happened."

Keep doing what you're doing.

He was discharged, but no real punishment. Then he began texting me stating “you ruined my life,” and more. But this situation ruined me.
