MLAA Investigates the U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command

On July 14, 2022 MLAA announced an investigation into Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault within the U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command (MSC).

The investigation was prompted by more than a dozen reports our organization has received over the past 2 years from mariners—many of them cadets—who were subjected to horrifying shipboard sexual harassment and sexual assaults aboard vessels owned and operated by MSC. Several of these brave survivors subsequently chose to publish their MSC horror-stories on our website, and you can view links to those stories below.

As our investigation develops, MLAA is seeking tips from mariners who have information about assaults, harassment, and coverups within MSC. We are also searching for mariners who are willing to share their own experiences dealing with sexual misconduct within MSC here on MaritimeLegalAid.com.

In the past 2 years more than 60 mariners have published their maritime horror stories on our website and Instagram, and these stories are changing the industry. If you are interested in sharing your story in order to create change, we encourage you to reach out to us via our Contact Page or email us at help@maritimelegalaid.com.

We prefer to speak confidentially with those who want to share their stories anonymously, and we can help you with drafting and editing your story as well. We understand that many people are not willing or able to do that, therefore you may also submit tips or stories anonymously via the contact form below. For more information about anonymous submission please visit our Contact Page. Text/Phone: 302-827-3890.
